Okay, so it wasn't so terrifying...
The master class for the art of play went pretty well. Most of the critics liked what we showed for Bandology, and they pointed out some of the concerns we already have about the game. It was also interesting to see the different game projects that other students at CMU are working on.
It’s good to get feedback face to face; as opposed to the way the ETC likes to do it where the faculty gets back two you two weeks later with ranty anonymous comments. This critique was more art school-based, and it definitely felt more constructive.
Another cool thing about the art of play is that there had a gallery full of innovative games (and perhaps art?) such as Façade, Braid, Crayon Physics Deluxe, and even one of my classic favorites: Grim Fandango. (Though Grim kept freezing up after Manny Calavera walked out of his office in the first part of the game. :()
And now I’m tired. I typically don’t wake up at 7:30 AM, especially after I’ve been working all day the previous day. That kind of schedule really fries up my creative side of the brain.
